Hi friends.
I am so happy to announce my winners from last month’s 4-week transformation challenge! These ladies worked hard and really got great results in just four short weeks. Way to go, girls! You inspire me.
My challenges are not all about weight loss. Sometimes your body gets to a point where there aren’t many more pounds to lose and you drop more inches. Photos show all! I also use your essay to determine what the challenge meant to you and what you learned. Thank you to all who participated.
I just launched my new 6-week challenge just in time for the holidays! If you are ready to look and feel your best, start now! We are in this together! Click here to learn more and sign up!
1st Place: Sierra Riley
This woman is amazing and had such a transformation!
?Sierra dropped 10.2 pounds and 2.5 inches on my 4-Week Circuit Program
? She’s a single mom to a three year old little girl, Maci. She works full time and goes to school (pursuing her bachelor’s degree)
?The next step: “I want to keep feeding my body the foods that it deserves to be fed and keep pushing myself when it comes to exercising. I would like to join another challenge group because it really helped hold me accountable and motivated me to strive to be my best each and every day. I would also like to spend more time in the kitchen and learn to cook a variety of healthier meals as well.”
When Sierra decided to make a change:
“There were days where I would go all day without eating and then binge on bad food/fast food at night and this became a very vicious cycle. I did not feel like the “happy me” I used to be. I knew I needed change and it had to start with me taking care of myself. I quickly came to terms with the fact that change is a choice that has to be made, not something that will just simply happen if you wait long enough, and so I joined your challenge.
I have learned that taking the time to work on myself is ok and I should not feel guilty about it because I am a better mom when I do so. It amazes me that when I feed my body with good food my mood is (happy) the complete opposite of when I do not take care of myself in terms of nutrition. I have always fed my daughter healthy meals that are full of fresh foods but failed to do the same for myself when times became tough. I also learned how great it makes me feel when I take time to exercise at least five days a week! I truly am a better mom now that I feel better about myself. I have more energy, I enjoy the little things more and feel like I am succeeding as a mommy -which is the best feeling in the whole world. Lastly, I learned that it is normal and OK to eat five to six meals a day, which is something that I have never ever done before because I feared what it would do to the number on the scale.
While it is still easy to pick myself apart and find the flaws when it comes to my body, I now realize how far I have come in only a month and what I am capable of doing in 2 months, 6 months, or even a year. I am proud of my stomach that is covered in stretch marks because it carried my precious 8-pound baby for 41 weeks. I am proud that by body can birth a child and also respond to great food and exercise. I am also proud that now I am a better example for my daughter which fills my heart.”
What kept her going: “The way I felt really motivated me to keep going and taking progress pictures boosted my motivation as well, knowing that there was change happening.”
2nd Place: Melissa Silva
Melissa dropped 3.2 pounds and 7.5 inches on my 4-Week Circuit Program!
You go girl! Look at that muscle tone!
?Works full time, mom of two kids
?The issue: Melissa’s weight was fluctuating up and down due to dealing with emotions after ending a 14 year marriage.
? Her goal: Melissa decided to tone up for her 34th birthday and breakthrough the yoyo cycle.
? What she learned: “I have learned that circuit exercises are very effective. I would just exercise on my own in my garage. With work and kid demands, going to a gym was not an option for me. But with the workout laid out in front of me, my workouts were more effective and efficient and the circuit type workout kicked my butt.”
Melissa’s Goal: “My goal was to build muscle and tone. Weight wise, I don’t really drop a lot of weight but when I get in a slump although the numbers on the scale hardly change, the definition and tone of my body definitely change and I become “soft”. So I wanted to tone back up.”
Challenges or Obstacles: “Time was a big challenge. I work out in the morning while my kids sleep and before I get them up for school and before I go to work. Sometimes workouts would take longer than I expected and I would get frustrated not finishing them. So my alarm had to be adjusted and I set it for 4:40am (5:00am was previous time) to give myself that extra time I needed. Also, meal prepping and eating right. But I wouldn’t allow my “bad days” to ruin the next day. It was a new day and new opportunity to do better.”
3rd Place: Clarissa Barragan
?Clarissa dropped 5.8 pounds and 4.5 inches on my 4-Week Circuit Program!
?She’s a wife & mom who works full time
?Her biggest breakthrough is that she’s now back in her skinny jeans!
Clarissa’s Challenges & Obstacles: “I have such a hard time with the weekends and cheating. The first weekend on this challenge for me was over Labor Day weekend! It was so hard to say no to party food! I did have more than one cheat meal but just getting back to eating three hours later and keeping those three hours in mind really helped me get through it and keep up with the challenge.”
What Have You Learned?
“I feel like I really learned what my body needs nutrition wise and got the hang of my food. That is always the hardest for me. I love chips and WINE! In the past I would come home and have a few chips and then throw in the towel. I didn’t do that this time! I learned that a moment of weakness is just that… a moment. No need to start again on Monday or wait for the next challenge. In 3 hours get back on it! Also, I learned how to be successful with getting every workout in… get up before my day starts… I can’t say later that I don’t want to and it just gets me off to a great start for my day!”
Great job! Be proud of yourselves! And Kelsey, awesome job on the program and coaching! ~Kymberly
