Hi friends! Last weekend some of my closest friends hosted a small, intimate baby shower for me. It was a LOT of fun and we had some great girl talk! LOTS of great stories about everyone’s labor experiences. One of those times where you laughed so much your face hurt. I needed that! I am so grateful for those close friends that show up for me and love me for ME.
It’s crazy what you forget when it’s been a few years since you’ve had a newborn at home. I am grateful to have friends going through this season as well so I can ask questions as a refresher. Plus, they keep me updated with the latest and greatest mommy/baby items I should have!

I am really grateful for the shower because we had nothing “boy.” Plus, when we stored a lot of Brinkley’s baby items (stroller, swings, etc) in our garage and they grew mold on them. Even though we thought they were clean and covered up, turns out, anything she spit up on even a tiny bit resulted in mold growing on them. So gross! I didn’t want to keep anything with mold so I pitched them out a year or two ago. I was so disappointed!
So, we are literally starting all over with baby things. Hopefully this helps someone when storing things for your little one. I would make sure you wash it a few times AND store your baby items indoors in a climate-controlled space if possible.

My friend Paula hosted my shower at her adorable home in north Houston. (Thanks Paula!) I preferred to have it in someone’s home because sometimes when you book at a restaurant, it winds up costing your hostesses a bunch of money + you only have the space for so long. I didn’t want to feel rushed visiting.
My friend Stacey brought this adorable back drop for photos and we set it up in the living room. It turned out so great! I’ve had quite a few people ask me what phone app I used for the lights but that is literally the backdrop. Cool, right?! You can get one on at the link below if you’d like one for your next party. I had a photo backdrop stand that I bought years ago and it really comes in handy for occasions like this.

Oh my goodness and the CAKE! My friend Maria with Thoughtful Cakes in Houston always does such a great job. It was a red velvet cake and it was delicious! If you need a beautiful cake that tastes amazing, definitely book her. Click here to see some of her work and contact her for your next party. She’s wonderful! She’s made several of Brinkley’s birthday cakes.

My flowers were from Bramble & Bee in Tomball. They were stunning and I took them home and enjoyed them all week.

We had a “Mom-osa” bar with champagne but these preggos just had orange juice! We’ll get a mom-osa soon enough though!

I had a great time at my shower and cannot wait to hold our little baby boy! He’s kicking away at all hours of the day/night and loves the sound of his sister’s voice. Stay tuned on my Instagram for baby updates! It’s getting REAL!
A special THANK YOU to everyone who made this day happen. You know who you are. Love y’all!
