Hospital Bag Checklist for Mom to Be

hospital bag for mom to be, pack hospital bag for labor

Hi friends!
My kiddos are five years apart, so it had been awhile since we’ve had a little munchkin in our house. I got a little overwhelmed thinking about packing a hospital bag so I started a list and thought out every step. I even asked my friends who have recently had babies to chip in advice. These are the things I brought to the hospital for my 2nd baby and we used everything. We ended up staying an extra day since I had a C-section and our little one was in the NICU for a few days. I hope this list helps you or someone you know about to have a baby.

For Mom:
Robe
House shoes/slippers
Pajamas
Panties – aka granny panties! – Click here!
Pads – (for heavy flow) the hospital will have some but it’s always good to have some ready.
Socks
Phone charger
Nursing bras/tanks
Blanket/pillow (optional)
Razor/makeup wipes/ face soap
Toiletries
Nursing pads / Nipple cream
Hair brush / hair tie
Tooth brush / tooth paste
Deodorant
Contact solution / contact case (if you wear them) + glasses
Hand sanitizer
Makeup
Boppy pillow (for nursing) – click here!
Snacks
Insurance card / ID
Shampoo / Conditioner / Hairdryer
Comfy clothes (pack for 4 days in hospital just in case)
Belly band / ab binder – click here!

For Baby:
Swaddle blankets
Pacifier
Car seat / base / stroller – click here!
Newborn and 0-3 month outfits (I packed 8 and we used them all since we were in the NICU). Zip ups are great!
Baby socks
Baby hat
Newborn diapers (hospital typically has this)

For Spouse/Partner:
Razor
Extra pillow and blanket
Phone charger
Pajamas
Comfy clothes
Underwear
Socks

Best of luck with your little one! I hope this has been helpful!

Love, Kelsey
